How Do I Apply & What are the Admission Requirements? |

Application materials for the coming academic year are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until the beginning of the program September 1st. Apply early as the program is currently limited to 20 students each year. You apply for admissions just like a regular graduate student: through the Graduate College at: http://www.asu.edu/graduate/admissions/domestic.html. You may apply online and requirements include: · An official ASU graduate application and fee · Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate course work · A statement of your goals and three letters of recommendation · The GRE or other graduate admissions exam is NOT REQUIRED · ASU also requires proof of immunization The statement is a formal, brief essay regarding relevant academic and professional experience, plus overall goals in geographic education. This program is for all K-12 educators, so letters of recommendation can come from any combination of current/former instructors, supervisors, or colleagues currently working at your school or in your district. Prospective students seeking the MAS-GE degree must: 1. Have a Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution (or equivalent) in education, geography, or related area with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale) 2. Demonstrate a minimum of one year related professional experience and successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale) Applicants with a GPA below 3.0 can apply and may be accepted if they show substantial promise of success based on the candidate's statement and letters of recommendation. Applicants to the MAS-GE program will be accepted year-round for admission to start each Fall Quarter. Orientation is the first Saturday of September. This program is designed as an 18-month master’s degree for working K-12 educators, although it is possible to finish a little quicker (12-months) or take a little longer (24-months).
